After tasting the victory with the netballers, it was time for me to taste some bitterness in the defeat of our school in the voleyball competition yesterday. Our boys started strongly and they were evenly matched. They lost focus in the middle of the match and the opponents never looked back. Maybe our boys were not used to be behind but thats something they have to learn. Fighting spirit is something which can bring a team a long way. Personally, i believe that our boys have to cut down on mistakes and play for every point. Never give up attitude. A good lesson to learn. All da best for the next game. i'll be there again!!! :)

i must say, to be honest, i'm really impressed by the performance of the netballers of my school. they won against GYSS yest with the score of 29-6. good game. really. the captain, for me, is the woman of the match. haha. :) she, Beverly, has been influential for almost all the goals. Jia Wen has been exceptionally well in scoring goals and Mei Yan, to my surprise, defended very very well. Liyi, the GK, was like, over my dead body if u wanna score. overall, they played really well. if they continue playing this kind of game, i believe CHIJ or even Raffles would not be a big prob. Never Give Up! Thumbs up for my netballers!!! Job Well Done!!!

Life's not bad after all....

A day after my birthday, i was pissed off... it has been a long time since the last time i 'burst'. And it was all because of my landlady. The cake that my friends bought for me was the cause. I was supposed to bring it to school to put it in the refrigerator since there was no space in my house's refrigerator. filled with her stuffs. but unfrotunately, i left it outside the house where i sit to put on my shoes. Wanna know what the landady did??? she threw the box just outside and finished the cake!! can u believe it?? and she still can complain to my roomie that i did not offer her anything. actually, i needed the refrigerator. wanted to bring back after school for my roomie and her. And my roomie was pissed off coz she said its ok if i never offer him, its bad that i never offer her only.... what to do??? i'm going off from that house in June for sure....



After school, i went to NUS to meet Eliz and also to watch my students playing netball. it was the south zone competition and they trashed their opponents 41-1. man, thats a rugby score. haha. well done. all da best for the next game which i think the toughest in the group!

Liz and I met after few months. we had a good time together,we always have. haha :). my closest friend. life's not bad after all. i dun wanna waste my time getting pissed with those who don't worth even my thoughts. ganja! i just wanna enjoy my life and only think about things which can make me smile.....

My B'day celebration!

24 years ago, i was intorduced to this world.... by my mum, of course.... and now, here am i. thanks to both my parents. yesterday was my 24th birthday. i really hope that my next birthday would be my 23rd birthday...

It was fun to be with my friends on my birthday... almost every teacher in Chong Boon wished me. haha... got a card from there and a lil gift. then went to temple before meeting my friends for dinner. bought me a cake.... alamak... haha :) Thank u very much!!!

well spent weekend...

Last weekend was really well spent. After meeting up with my uncle in the morning, i went for hiking at Bukit Timah. A very nice place to be. A lot of times, i wondered if i was really in Singapore. A very peaceful and green place. And guess who was my tour guide. Mrs. Menon, my Principal. She has been going there for almost every week for many many years. she basically knows all the paths there. It was an enjoyable trip to Bukit Timah. And oh, ya! Mr. Vinodh accompanied us as well. I think i need to build up my stamina for the next hiking trip.

Then, on Sunday, i went to NTU for futsal. It's a mini competition among the Malaysians. Though we lost both the games, it was fun playing except that getting sunburn coz of playing under the hot sun was not so fun. And for this competition i had to wake up at 6.30am. Never knew the world exists early on Sunday morning. Usually, when i wake up on Sundays, the sun will be already high up in the sky. But to see the sunrise on Sunday was something quite new after a long long time.hehe :)

I din have enough sleep and was too tired coz of hiking and futsal. But do u know what did i do? I went for a Tamil movie with two of my frens. ganja, rite. thank god i din sleep in the cinema. the movie was not that nice. not worth the second time.

Man, next weekend, i'm just gonna rest in my room. thats all...

Something interesting....

I entered my class (4e1) with the stern look. I did not reply the smile of my students while they entered the class. They were noisy at first but settled down very fast. I was still with my 'deadly' look. After greeting, I started to lecture them. I told them that I'm very angry with they way they are behaving. Will punish them if they continue to behave that way. They were quiet. I could sense the fear among themselves. Some did not quite understand what could have made me that angry.

After a while, I explained the rational. I was about to conduct a class on anger management. So i started off by pretending to be angry. It worked. My students were terrified and horrified. Well, I told them that though the message i wanted to channel was good, but the way i approached was wrong. No one likes to listen to angry people. ANGER stands for Arrogant, Nonsense, Gullible, Emotional and Rude. Vinodh helped me in that term. Then I could see my students easing off... haha. :) Sorry guys to scare u all. But everyone of u can improve on ur behaviour!

Today, i got to know that one of my students, Beverly, is the school netball captain. Cool. And they are playing this afternoon. Guess where???? NUS SRC. Oh, my God!! I wonder if there's any netball courts in NUS SRC. Maybe they'll be playing on the basketball court or in MPSH 5. I wanna go but i have to attend a meeting in school. Maybe the next time. next Wed. no matter what a student does, he/she has to grow. And we in Chong Boon carry the responsibility to nurture him/her with the best possible way. Some students are very positive but there are students who are resistant to this initiative.

today was our Growth Day. Before doing the target setting for the year, students from all the classes come together to complete the banner which says 'Chong Boonites support Singapore's bid for Youth Olympics 2010'. And the banner turned out very well. I'm very proud of Chong Boonites. I believe everyone in Chong Boon is. Though there were some arrogant and misbehaved students tried to screw the whole thing up by showing unacceptable attitude, the end product of the banner turned out to be beautiful.

Finally, I'm quited motivated on seeing how my students (4e1) set their targets for the year. Though none targeted an A1 for Chemistry, but overall I'm satisfied. I'll come up with my own targets for my students in Chemistry. And i will work hard to prepare them for O-Levels. hope everything will turn out well.

i have started to work out as one way to meet my expectation of putting on weight. haha... u know, 5kgs in a year. hope things will go on smmothly...as a prove, i have taken some pictures of the gym. too bad i din take any of the pics of me doing any workouts as people might be surprised looking at my muscles.

Welcome 2008!

Let's review the year 2007 first..

it's a good year. i graduated from NUS and i started my career as a teacher in a lovely school called Chong Boon Sec School. Came to know a lot of new people including my students who really made my life more colourful. and on top of that, i found the other half of myself; Vino. the best thing that ever happened in my life after so so long. I also came to know who are my true friends; those who i can rely on when i'm in trouble. i really hope 2008 will be better.

2008 resolution!!

1. Put on weight; maybe 5kgs by the end of the year

2. Exercise regularly to keep healthy

3. Make Chem an enjoyable subject to learn

4. Start playing football regularly

5. To always be helpful to my friends

6. A good teacher; GTD
